This website originally launched in 1995 under a different domain.<\/p>\n<p>It is our hope that this website can serve not only as a tribute but also as an awareness and educational tool.<\/p>\n<p>AIDS is still very real and whether you are deaf, deafblind, hard-of-hearing, hearing, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, pansexual, intersex, queer or straight &#8212; AIDS does not discriminate. The names that you see on this website come from different age, economic, sexual orientations, ethnic, racial and cultural groups.<\/p>\n<p>If you know of a missing name, or have an obituary or photo of any of the names listed, please <a href=\"http:\/\/deafaids.info\/main\/?page_id=15\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">submit it<\/a>. Until there&#8217;s a cure, we will continue to add submitted names, obituaries, and photos to this site each year on World AIDS Day.<\/p>\n<p>To our knowledge, this website contains the most complete, up-to-date list of names of Deaf people lost to AIDS and HIV-related complications in the United States. No list, however, could possibly list all of the people we&#8217;ve lost.
